چکیده
200 ml. of isopropenyl acetate (Tennessee Eastman Corporation) are cooled in an ice bath and then, with stirring, 25 ml. of 85 per cent syrupy phosphoric acid (35 gm. of H3P04) are added dropwise, and finally 1.0 ml. of concentrated sulfuric acid is added as catalyst. The reaction mixture is placed in a water bath at 25” and stirred constantly to prevent localized heating. After 35 minutes at this temperature, the reaction mixture becomes deep orange in color. It is then cooled in an ice bath and 50 ml. of ice-cold water are added cautiously. A too rapid addition of water results in a rapid rise in temperature and consequently lower yields of acetyl phosphate. The mixture is t,hen neutralized to about pH 5.0 with cold 4 N lithium hydroxide (about 300 ml.). During the neutralization, the mixture may separate into two phases, since the isopropenyl acetate which was added in excess is relatively insoluble in water. It is therefore necessary to mix the layers thoroughly while adding the lithium hydroxide so as to extract the acetyl phosphate from the organic phase. The neutralization should be carried out as rapidly as possible without, however, causing the tem-

Nano-Silica phosphoric acid: an efficient catalyst for one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones (thiones) under solvent-free or sonication conditions
Two simple protocols for the synthesis of three-component condensation reaction of an aldehyde, β-ketoester and urea or thiourea to obtain the 3, 4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones (thiones) using nano silica phosphoric acid are reported. Short reaction times, high yields, reusability of catalyst and easy workup are some advantages of these protocols.

متن کاملUrea-hydrogen peroxide/silica phosphoric acid-catalyzed oxidation- condensation Tandem reaction: One-pot synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazoles from alcohols
An efficient one-pot oxidation/condensation tandem process has been developed for the synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazole derivatives from benzylic alcohols and 1,2-phenylenediamine with use of urea-hydrogen peroxide/silica phosphoric acid as a bifunctional catalyst. This method provides a rapid and efficient access to 2-substituted benzimidazoles.

متن کاملAcetate kinase from Veillonella alcalescens. Regulation of enzyme activity by succinate and substrates.
Acetate kinase of Veillonella alcalescens has been shown to be highly regulated enzyme exhibiting two levels of control: the requirement for succinate as a heterotropic allosteric effector, and cooperative binding at the substrate level. Succinate addition was necessary for enzymatic activity in both the direction of acyl phosphate synthesis and that of ATP synthesis. Control at the substrate l...
